Blogspam

Argh!

Stuff keeps coming in faster than I can keep up with it. I just did another clean-up, and noted a rather, rather offensive bit that would have locked me out of the whole mt.confusticate.com domain if I'd have logged in from the library.

Do any of you know how I can easily ban some of the stuff that comes in? Or, Jeremy--is it at all possible to have a button that allows you to add a comment's IP directly to your banned list AND delete it at the same time?

Comments

Do you have your preferences set to notify you when you get comments? If you do, scroll to the very end of the email, and you'll see a link to add the comment to MTBlacklist, which blocks comments containing certain strings (like links to spam sites). Click on the link, and MTBlacklist will automatically remove the spam from your entry and add its links to its list. Most of us have seen a dramatic reduction in blogspam since Jeremy installed it.

Yes, I mostly have less blogspam. Or at least, I can clear it out faster. I usually have about 1 - 3 blogspams a day now, which is certainly better than the upwards of 30 I was getting a few months ago.

Well, stupid me for just deleting all the notifying e-mails that come in instead of looking at them more closely...

::smacks head rather hard to clear out useless brain matter::

Thanks!

Oh, and I'll likely try and make Hall time next week, at least being present anyway...
