Owch!!

>_<

I knew applying for a Green Card was going to hurt my (our) wallet.

(You did know I got married, right?)

But I didn't expect it to really hurt!

Four. Needles.

Everyone going through Green Card application processing has to have a physical. It's basic, really, just making sure you don't have any really serious illnesses. But...there's a long list of those.

  • Tuberculosis.
  • Tetanus.
  • Diphtheria.
  • Mumps.
  • Measles.
  • Chicken pox.
  • Rubella (German measles).

And bloodwork to check for a whole list of other things, too.

And who really keeps their immunization records around? Not my parents...besides, I hadn't been immunized against the MMR (mumps, measles, rubella) or chicken pox either - I'd just caught them and kicked them out.

So. One hole for a Tb bubble test. One for blood sample. One for Tetanus/Diptheria. One MMR. (Skipped the chicken pox one, thankfully.)
