So, we got DirecTV and the TiVo box last week. This week? DSL from Verizon.
1.5Mbit down, 448Kbit up. Sure, it's no 3-4Mbit like I was getting with Cox, but it's also not Cox - no spotty service, no blocking port 25 to "stop spam"...
So, I suspect it won't be too long before I start doing Crazy Stuff like moving web servers and the like.
It's cheaper, and less of a pain in my ass. Where's the downside?

Unfortunately, I can't seem to get it to talk to my AirPort Express base station, so I can't do WDS and share my connection, and thus can't print to my AirPort-connected printer as of yet.
I wonder if I can hook my AirPort Base Station directly into the wall jack?
Nah...

You may not care, but from the Verizon TOS:
You may not use the Broadband Service to host any type of server personal or commercial in nature.Posted by: Jeremy on October 21, 2004 07:54 AM
