Today's clue was presented to me this morning rolled up and tied with a bright red bow. Very Christmasy (then again, so are the penguins, polar bears, and reindeer all over the paper my presents have been wrapped in).

My second clue was taped to the mirror in the bathroom this morning when I got up to take my shower. Apparently it was also taped to the mirror at 1AM last night when I got up, but apparently I am not very observant in the middle of the night. I solved it and found the present while Jeremy was in the shower. Not sure who was more surprised by that, me or him.

As you may or may not know, my birthday is next Tuesday (August 24th). Send gifts now so they arrive on time ;) Jeremy is very sweetly giving me 6 days of birthday fun, starting today. But there's a twist...
Each morning I will receive a clue. The clue will contain a puzzle of some kind that, once solved, will reveal the location of the present for the day. The locations are somewhere around our house. As I am something of a puzzle fan, this ought to be good.
I will post the clues with solutions here each day after they have been solved and the present has been found. I'm going to try to post the solution with text matching the background so that those of you who want to try to solve the clues yourself can.
Day 1 Clue:
Freeverse Software makes many fun versions of well known computer games. Solitaire, various puzzles, and so forth. Several of these are in the "Burning Monkey" series, including Burning Monkey Mahjong. Among the silly monkey antics and funny songs, in Burning Monkey Mahjong you get a fortune cookie when you win the game.
