School started last week. Emma's in 2nd Grade this year, Sarah started "big girl" preschool. There are pictures on my flickr of the first day of school for both of them. Emma is, of course, into the hectic-ness (yes, that is now a word) of homework. Her teacher does not believe in weekend homework, which is nice, but the weekdays are a different story. Emma is so excited to learn cursive this year! I remember when I learned cursive. I thought it was so pretty! Emma also got her planner. In it, we found out there is such a holiday as "Grandparents's Day". Huh, I never knew that. We went to Target, and sure enough, there were "Grandparent's Day" cards. I don't know how this holiday has escaped me before. We went ahead and got cards for their grandparents. The ones we had to send won't get there until this week, but since I didn't even realize that such a holiday existed, I think we'll be OK!
Sarah has been funny with school. She has been so excited to go to her school (1/2 day preschool 3 days a week). The first day that I took her, she wanted me to drop her off in the parking lot. She was quite sure she could find her own way in. Obviously, I had to disappoint her, and actually walk her into her classroom. She was so funny. Even once we got to the doors of the school, she said, "Mommy, you leave me here." 3 times I had to brea, the news to her that no, I would walk her all the way to the door of her classroom! At least I know she feels confident enough in my love for her that she doesn't need to have me around to prove it! She is a funny independent one, though!
Sorry, I realize this isn't very well written. I just wanted to make sure I got up those 2 stories! I'll try to do a better job at keeping this updated!
