Okay, two *very* different web sites to share...
The first, The ARKive, is a *very* cool... well, a virtual zoo, I guess you might say. It's an audiovisual catalog from animals all over the world (they call themselves "the Noah's Ark for the Internet era"), and its stated purpose is to create a lasting record of Earth's biodiversity. In my opinion, they're certainly off to a good start, and it's a really fun place to browse.
The second site... well, I couldn't resist. A friend sent me a link to this, and so I pass on a page with a collection of images capturing the wacky and slightly sadistic, er, "sport" of squirrel fishing. (By the by, this semi-serious experiment is, according to some sources, what might have kicked off the phenomenon. And in case you're wondering where you've heard of this before-- the comic strip "Zits" featured a short series on the topic around July/Aug 2004.)
