47 pounds lighter

Well...

I'm glad I never got into the habit of posting regularly, because honestly, I just don't always have time to post these days...

However...

At jessica's 2 week check-up, I decided to borrow the doctor's scale (which is out in the hallway just across from the receptionist's desk) and see how much weight I'd lost after giving birth.

During the pregnancy, I'd lost weight. Perhaps a bad idea on my part, but what I did was count any weight loss as fat-pounds lost and any weight gained as baby weight.

Which meant that I "lost" 27 pounds during pregnancy and "gained" 14 pounds of baby (for a net loss of 13 pounds at the end of the pregnancy from my pre-pregnancy weight).

I was expecting to have dropped about 8 pounds or so after labor - if I was lucky, maybe as many as 15.

So I stepped on the scale and weighed myself... I was 34 pounds lighter than I was on the Friday before I went into labor! That's 47 pounds altogether...

And several dress sizes... I was checking my closet because my shorts don't fit anymore (they rest on my hips, barely, and I can pull them off without unzipping them without any effort) and I don't really have many clothes I fit into anymore. I've never been one to keep "skinny" pants around, I hate feeling guilty about being fat, so generally once I stop fitting into something, I trash it.

I had one dress in a size 16 (by the way, the shorts are a 24) and I fit into that and actually look good. I also have a medium-sized jumper that also fits fine. I have two 18s and everything else is a 20 or higher.

The really annoying thing about this is that I've gotten all my shirts in 2 and 3X recently, so even they don't fit right anymore - they're all sliding off my shoulders. I look like a rag-bag.

Oh well. Christmas is coming up... my dad says he'll get me a GC to JC Penny's for Christmas and I'll get some new clothes.
