I have had it with Scott Holden.
I understand that he's from New Jersey and therefore has deficient manners. He can't be expected to hold doors open or pull someone's chair out for them. He won't remember (unless reminded) that he ought to ask his wife to dance at a company party. He forgets to do introductions.
But enough is enough. At some point simply the fact that he is rude has to be acknowledged. There are no more excuses. He's just rude.
Kevin's been working at Dendrite now for over two years. In that time, Scott has promised to come up to dinner many times and has never come up. When I was pregnant, he promised Kevin he'd visit us when the baby was born. She's now three months old and he's never come up. He was going to throw a Christmas party - and invited everyone very last minute at great inconvenience to us with something we'd already planned. We cancelled those plans in order to go to his party. He cancelled at the last minute.
He is constantly making plans to do things and then - not only does he cancel at the last minute - but he calls at 8 or 9 in the morning to tell us these plans are cancelled, despite being told multiple times that Kevin and I sleep late on days when Kevin doesn't have to work.
I'm awakened out of a sound sleep (and I'd been sleeping rather restlessly all night and only started getting some good sleep around 6am) at 9 to be told that our activities this evening are - again - cancelled. And we'll do them next week.
No, we won't. Kevin can go if he feels like he has to, but I've had enough. I'm not going, I'm not making plans to go.
