Conversation With Penny
Penny
A sincere and entirely true conversation I had with my daughter this morning: Liz: I think you should take a nap. Penny: What? No! No way! Liz: Yes. Penny: No! Only the littlest of little babies take naps! Liz: And babies who are apparently not feeling so well. Can you say, 'projectile vomit?' Penny: P-p-p-p-p-p-p... Liz: Very close! Now, you need to take a nap. Look, you're rubbing your eyes. Penny: They itch! It doesn't mean I'm tired! Liz: Oh. Well, why don't you just sit here on my lap for a while. Penny: Okay, but I'm not taking a nap! Liz: Fair enough. I'm a little chilly. You don't mind if I cover us with this little blanket, do you? Penny: Not taking a nap. No naps. Nope. No na- Zzzzzzz.... The moral of the story, little girl? Mom is still just a little bit smarter than you. And she lies.
